Mrs. Zungoli & palmettoyankee... when your name is on the deed of Mr. Wilson's property and you pay the property taxes on it, then you have a right to some say-so. But until then, this is "HIS HOME". He clearly paid for this property and what he does or doesn't do to it is really none of your concern. Therefore he has the right to have a say-so...you have nooo idea how much money he has put back into this community. And if you are so concerned about the so-called "Historic District" then why haven't you purchased these ran down, crack houses and restored them yourselves?? Why kick someone for doing something good, when you are not willing to pay for the repairs out of your own pockets??? Atleast now it will make someone a very nice home, where before it was not suitable for rats to live in...So until you have walked a mile in his shoes, don't complain.
From what I have read Mr. Wilson has every right in the world to IMPROVE HIS property which in turns benefits all the surrounding properties. I cannot for the life of me understand why he is being so harrassed for trying to do good for the community and yet we have so many abandoned homes and businesses here in Seneca. Are there not any codes against those??? As far as if he makes a profit or not on these properties is not the point. And as far as a reponse to George3, Evidently, you must not have saw this house BEFORE Mr. Wilson renovated it.. As gailw. responded in a prior issue, she owns the brick home next door to 213 ES 2ND St. and is very much a supporter of what Mr. Wilson is trying to do. It, as sooo many other homes in this area was nothing but a ran down CRACK house and no one seems to worry about that as much as someone that is trying to do some good. And as for all those you speak of as "investors" for the "city and for potential growth and security", I am sure they would have never been interested in this home prior to Mr. Wilsons' renovations. How can a city grow and prosper if people like you don't want to see change? you also speak of junk cars w/ flat tires on the lawn. Well, I have drove by this property on a daily basis since this whole thing started and I have of yet to see one junk car on this lawn or any other lawn as far as that goes that Mr. Wilson has owned or still owns. How many jobs have you or the BAR ever created for the community? How many homes have you personaly renovated to try and bring growth to the area?? So maybe you need to clean out from under your own door-step before you start digging under someone elses.....
