On Mayor says illegal aliens abound

Another idiotic statement, this time from rlw6534..."Legal citizens aren't willing to do this work (after all, why work when you can sit at home and draw welfare, etc"

Here we go with the familiar rant from the globalists and 'progressive' anti-American libs that citizens just won't work hard nor do certain jobs. It's a tired, worn out and totally untrue arguement that the illegal alien huggers throw out to try to make those that don't know any better believe we just can't do without illegals.

Personally, I'm greatly offended when I hear that claptrap. Myself and my father and my grandfather and on and on have all worked hard at blue-collar jobs. It is not that the illegal aliens do the work that Americans won't do. It is that illegal aliens do the work for low wages, little to no benefits, under conditions that are unsafe as per OSHA and illegal as per DOL. When illegal aliens were given legal status during the Amnesty of 1986, many of those legalized aliens began demanding proper wages and working conditions and were promptly fired. Their unscrupulous employers simply hired the next wave of illegal aliens who worked for those substandard wages under often illegally dangerous conditions. These aliens are among those who are now seeking legalization. There is absolutely no reason to believe that history wouldn’t repeat itself if we provide millions of illegal aliens with legal status. Once they were emboldened by their newly acquired legal status to demand proper wages and working conditions, they no longer would be the desirable employees that they had been, and the unscrupulous employers would simply fire them and replace them with the next wave of illegal aliens. That's exactly why the working wages of blue collar Americans have plummeted that are able to remain employed in the landscaping, construction, meatpacking, assembly, service and hospitality industries because of the mass numbers of illegal aliens employed in them. Amnesty begets more illegal aliens which demand another amnesty...an endless loop.

I love it when libs get into their "unless you are an American Indian, then you are an immigrant" mode, like the illegal alien hugger anonymous / rlw6534 that accuses immigration enforcement advocates of bigotry. Here's a news flash for you anonymus...the ancestors of American Indians migrated from northern Asia and untimately (how far back do you want to go?) from the plains of Kenya. So unless you are currently living on the plains of Kenya you are the product of immigration. So stop with your bigotry crap and get educated. if you don't want to look stupid any longer...stop using your lame line.

On Immigration reform raises fears

Taxpayers in our country pay more than $100 billion every year on health care and other services for illegal immigrants, including education, law enforcement costs, and housing.

The effect of illegal immigration:

Overpopulation, congestion, urban sprawl, pollution, environmental damage, crumbling infrastructure due to overuse, diminishing resources, diseases, lack of affordable housing, depressed wages, an underground non-taxpaying economy, fraudulent documents, identity theft, tax evasion, soaring crime rates, increased tax burdens, overcrowded schools, poorly educated children, overcrowded prisons, an overburdened health care system with the closure of hospitals, the balkanization of our communities, a large and growing population with loyalty to other nations and an onslaught on our national culture and identity leading to an overall decline in our quality of life.

The more we become a nation of illegal immigrants, the deeper we fall into anarchy.

Did you know that illegal aliens have "no standing" legally since they are in the country illegally.

Yep, that's right. That was a decision rendered in a case just last year by a federal judge. Furthermore, illegal aliens have no civil rights. Yep, that's right. Civil rights pertain ONLY to citizens. The Merriam-Webster online Dictionary defines civil-rights as: “The nonpolitical rights of a citizen; especially: the rights of personal liberty guaranteed to U.S. citizens by the 13th and 14th amendments to the Constitution and by acts of Congress.” If one is not a citizen of the country, civil rights do not apply.

On Immigration reform raises fears

We import 182,000 legal and illegal immigrants every 30 days into this country.

Our president and Congress allow it, and in fact, encourage it. All three presidential candidates support unlimited, unending and unrelenting immigration—all three voted to double legal immigration from 1.2 to 2.2 million annually in 2007.

That’s in the face of 28 million Americans on food stamps; 14 million Americans without jobs; massive housing foreclosures because Americans don’t have the jobs to pay their mortgage; $4.00 a gallon gas; 1.5 million homeless Americans; overloaded schools; bankrupting hospitals and 2.3 million inmates in our prisons; press ‘1’ for Spanish and ’2’ for English—and on and on.

On Immigration reform raises fears

First, let us remember the "illegal" part of being an illegal immigrant. Most Americans don't seem to have problems with legal immigration, however it only seems fair to question the value of any additions to our country who already show no regard for it's laws upon arrival.

Second, it seems far too easily forgotten that one must be an U.S. citizen in order to warrant the rights afforded to a citizen. That should be the end of discussion.

Third, legal immigrants working alongside native born citizens have made this country what it is. We have thrived on the contributions of immigrants and will usually need them, though to varying degrees, throughout most sectors of our economy. The problem is that we cannot afford to turn a blind eye to those who enter illegally, ignore our laws and seek to subvert our culture and national values. We welcome those who follow the rules, learn the English language, and respect our sovereignty. As illegal immigrants, it is not only offensive but also ridiculous to ask for rights, which they have not earned nor are entitled to.

Let's secure our borders by building the fence so we have an effective and controlled immigration system at the same time as we enforce our currently existing immigration laws. During this interval we encourage illegals to depart (attrition through enforcement). Once our borders are secured and we have a grip on a functional system of immigration, we move against those illegals that have refused to leave. We should never ever grant amnesty.
We tried 'comprehensive immigration reform' in 1986. We gave amnesty to 3 million illegal aliens in exchange for the government promising to secure the borders, conduct workplace enforcement and enforce immigration law. It didn't work because the government lied and did nothing other than process the amnesty paperwork. Due to that folly, we now have 20 Million or more illegal aliens here demanding amnesty.

Don't you think it is far beyond time that we engage in Comprehensive Immigration ENFORCEMENT rather than Comprehensive Immigration Reform?

On Immigration reform raises fears

If Latinos see anti-ILLEGAL sentiment as anti-LATINO, then that is one large confused segment of society.

The sentiment has nothing to do with LATINO but does have everything to do with ILLEGAL with no regard to your skin color, creed, nationality or culture. Illegal immigrants are comprised of many nationalities. It is true, though, that 75-80% of illegal immigrants are Hispanic, which is due largely to Latin America’s proximity to our borders.

If these Hispanics that cry racism because the vast majority of Americans are against ALL illegal immigration want to feel "less persecuted", stop illegally entering our country. By doing so you will have removed yourselves from the equation and issue. However, you will still see most Americans against ALL illegal immigration, with no regard to race, culture or ethnicity.

ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL and nothing changes that fact. Illegal means not legal.

Political power is the real reason immigration advocacy groups are opposed to immigration law enforcement and a successful selective legal immigration program.
